About the couple
Liam and Georgia met in 2018 in Norwich, at the university where they both studied. The short version of their meeting is "through mutual friends", however the long version is a little more colourful...
Picture the scene: Liam has been asked to film a zombie-themed music video of Michael Jackson's Thriller for the UEA Music Society down by the UEA lake. What he wasn't asked – but is very much expected – to do is provide direction for the ragtag collection of zombie-impersonating students collected to participate in the video. Due to the somewhat 'undirectable' nature of the players, and Liam's shy and polite direction style, the group are already running several hours behind schedule when Georgia arrives. Georgia was meant to be collecting a friend for a trip to Aldi to stock up on cheap crisps and booze for an upcoming Halloween party. Frustrated by the slow progress, despite not being asked and with customary over-confidence, Georgia began to direct the dancers. Liam and Georgia soon got the giggles over the more exuberant/out of time performers and sparks began to fly.
Liam was attracted by Georgia's creativity, confidence and humour, not to mention patience with the dimwit operating the camera; Georgia was intrigued by Liam's dry humour, quick wit and lovely coat. This exchange secured Liam an invitation to the aforementioned Halloween party. Despite actually needing to stay home and complete an important piece of coursework, he decided to pop in to get the chance to talk to Georgia again. The pop-in for a chat turned into conversation until 4am and really they never stopped talking and laughing ever again.
Georgia and Liam moved to Cambridge together in 2020 and have enjoyed the process of building a home together. They are often to be found upcycling, repairing, reupholstering and repainting various second hand objects for their collection. When not making things for their home, they are crocheting, embroidering, singing, or throwing elaborate theme parties together. He does all the cooking, she makes all the plans. They have created a very peaceful and loving home in each other.
This home has recently become extra loving, with the unexpected arrival of their first child Albert. Becoming parents has been the most exciting adventure of their relationship so far. Albie is very tolerant of his ever-singing, ever-silly-voiced, ever-daft parents. Georgia and Liam cannot wait to be married and officially be a family of three Selfs.
